Rhythmic Gymnastics Group
We are extremely proud of our two Bath Rhythmic gymnasts who competed at the British Championships at the weekend. Pelagia in year 7 and Selina Brown in year 12 have committed to an intensive training programme not just in the build-up to this competition but over many years. Both Pelagia and Selina have come away from the weekend with medals!
Pelagia was part of the Junior squad who came away with silver, an incredible achievement and one that we are very proud of.
Selina was part of the Senior Squad that were the overall winners in the hoop competition but she and her team were also overall Senior Group Champions. This is an utterly brilliant result for the girls, for Bath Rhythmic gymnastics club and for Bath as a whole.
We are very proud of the girls who have not only demonstrated their exceptional talent and skill but both Pelagia and Selina demonstrate a commitment to their team, their training and an utter dedication to rhythmic gymnastics that is an inspiration to us all.

Cricket Report
U13A v BGS
A bit of a shock to the system for U13A when they faced a particularly talented BGS team. RHS were pretty consistent with their bowling however and grew in confidence when batting as the game went on.
Game finished 179 - 109 in BHS favour.
Players of match were awarded as follows:
Batter - LOLA RECORD
Bowler - EMILIE KIRKWOOD
U13B v BGS
A much more evenly balanced game with both teams growing in confidence and attacking the game. RHS produced some impressive fielding saving a number of boundaries. One particularly good batter in the BGS team proved to be the difference seeing BGS win the game 181 - 177! A very friendly but highly competitive game and an exciting one to watch!
Saturday 23rd June
U15 Cricket v Bristol Grammar School Lost 120 – 52
Highlight: The penultimate game was played on a hot day in Bristol against a very strong and experienced BGS squad. Playing a ‘full’ game of 15 overs for the first time (rather than pairs cricket) the girls stepped up to the plate well. Despite the scoreline, the girls have all come on so much in the short 2 months they have been playing with all girls able to bowl a good length and with accuracy. Special mention in this game must go to Lily-Rose Barnett for her wicket and to Poppy Newman who top-scored for RHS with 12 (not out).
Team: Lily-Rose Barnett, Olivia Smith, Annabelle Reynolds, Annabelle White, Elena Balfagon, Poppy Newman, Elise Illingworth, Aimee Padwick, Alessandra White, Freya Barter
Dancing to Success
Congratulations to Eliza who was successful this weekend with her dance group. They came first at the Bristol Virtuoso competition. The group have worked really hard all year so it was a deserved success!!
Year 9 Trust Cricket
On Friday 22nd June we travelled to Hampstead Cricket Club in London for play in, for the very first time, the Trust Cricket Tournament. The team consisted of Hannah Elliott, Cleo Kelley, Aisha McIsaac, Ava Karanjavala, Ellie Green, Lottie Frank, Hannah Ford, Dorothy Rose Mulcahy, Imogen Muscroft and Nicole Dunlop (Captain). We quickly realised that the teams we were to face had all been playing cricket for number of years so we approach the day as an experience building opportunity. We played Northwood, Bromley and Oxford. We started slowly but improved throughout in particular with our bowling. After the group stage we were placed in the Plate competition and played Croydon. Unfortunately we lost but took so much from the experience. It gave us lots of great pointers to improve our game and has given us something to build on. It was a great day out. The sun was shining, the girls as always conducted themselves brilliantly and entered into the spirit of the event.
Saturday 23rd June
Year 9 Cricket away to BGS
Saturday was a great opportunity to get two squads out to play two experienced BGS squads. Both squads started well with some strong bowling but as the game progressed we struggled to contain the experienced batting skills of BGS. However, it was our batting that let us down. We struggled to connect with the ball to enable us to build up our runs. The matches were played in great spirit and while we lost the girls showed a real improvement in their bowling skills. Onwards and upwards.
A Squad – Nicole Dunlop (Captain), Hannah Ford, Cleo Kelley, Imogen Muscroft, Aisha McIsaac, Hannah Elliott, Lottie Frank and Ava Karanjavala
B Squad – Libby Walters (Captain), Wendy Li, Eva Onevia and Amber Dewsnap
Tuesday 26th June
Year 9 Cricket away to KES
What a day for cricket. A beautiful spot on a scorching summers day. We started well with some excellent bowling from Nicole Dunlop who got a wicket with her first bowl. However, we struggled as the game progressed to contain the batting skills of KES. When we faced we connected with the ball better but the combination of poor ball placement and some poor decision making resulted in a loss of 9 wickets. This, unfortunately, resulted in a hefty defeat, one that does not truly reflect the ability of the girls.
This has been a developmental season for our novice crickets. One that we have learnt a lot from and has provided a great foundation to build upon for future seasons.
Squad – Nicole Dunlop (Captain), Hannah Ford, Lottie Frank, Eva Onevia, Wendy Li, Lottie Frank, Cleo Kelley, Ava Karanjavala, Ellie Green
Aiming for Gold
A huge congratulations to Bethany Ede (Year 10) who has just returned victorious from Dunster after having competed in the 2-day Adult South West Regional Archery Championships. The regional championships see archers compete from Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall and Bethany shot 300 arrows over the weekend, shooting arrows over a distance of 80 yards.
Bethany was the only junior competing (all other competitors were adults) and, after brilliant shooting scoring 1228 points out of 1290 she came out victorious and so is the new South West England Senior Champion.
Congratulations Bethany on a fantastic result, a just reward for all the hard work you have put in over many years.
GDST Rounders Tournament
Wednesday 27th June 2018
Senior Squad - Phoebe Aisher, Skye Bayley, Jaimee Chadwick, Lucia Guest, Alex John, Poppy Newman, Kate Perkins, Olivia Smith, Katie Stubbs, Susannah White
A beautiful day and a beautiful setting for the last ever Senior Trust Rounders Tournament. Our girls were placed in such a difficult pool which made for an intense and competitive first half of the tournament. Every one of our seven pool matches was a close contest and winning and losing was decided by the smallest of errors. After our first 6 matches we had lost 3 and won 3 but due to our pool being so strong and producing a mix of results from the other teams we found ourselves still on the verge of going through top 4 in our pool and qualifying for the quarterfinals of the Cup competition. Game 7 was a must-win game against Nottingham and RHS rose to the occasion winning the game convincingly 9 ½ - 3 ½. The quarterfinals place was ours.
We met South Hampstead in the quarterfinals who had been unbeaten all day and came top of the other pool. Our girls went on the attack and our winning momentum continued with another convincing 6 – 3 win.
On to the semi-finals and we were facing Shrewsbury who we had narrowly lost to earlier in the tournament. We fielded first and held them to just 5 ½ rounders with some superb fielding getting 7
of their 9 players out. Unfortunately despite our best efforts and some excellent fielding from Shrewsbury we just couldn’t sneak the scores we needed and we lost the match 5 ½ - 3 ½.
Coming into this tournament, despite having not trained together as a squad our expectations were high because we have very talented rounders players. Today they came together as a team and they grew and improved with every performance. They supported each other, they played some excellent rounders and we are very proud of them all and they thoroughly deserved their semi-final.
Highlights:
* Impressive catches taken under pressure by every player in the squad including one-handed takes by Olivia and Susanna!
* The combination of Lucia at backstop and Olivia at 1st base was at times on fire!
* Excellent batting and running to pick up vital scores from Kate, Lucia and Katie.
* Skye’s pick-ups and accurate throws to prevent opposition scoring at 2nd base was impressive!
The whole squad contributed to what was a fantastic event and an amazing day of rounders. An event that will be fondly remembered and sadly missed from our Summer calendar.
