We have recently invited parents to apply for places for their daughters to participate in our Iceland trip planned for October half term 2020. It is open to all students in current Years 9 to 12.

This five-day trip will focus on the wonders of South Western Iceland. Often described as the land of fire and ice, this country is famous for both its icecaps and its volcanic activity. This trip will be a special opportunity for students to explore this fascinating country with the help of a specialist local guide.

The trip will include experiences such as a guided trek with crampons up a glacier, witnessing erupting geysers, vast rainbow fringed waterfalls, viewing bubbling mud pools, relaxing on a black volcanic sand beach while climbing on large hexagonal basalt columns, learning about recent eruptions, swimming in natural geothermally heated spa pools and if we are lucky, seeing the northern lights.

We will stay in a number of hotels during our tour and learn about Icelandic culture. A video of one of our last trips can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoNIvSIxRnA. If you are interested in applying for a place on this trip then please see our form on firefly.

Applications need to be made before 18th October 2019. https://royalhighbath.fireflycloud.net/senior-school-forms/iceland-expedition-october-2020 If you have any questions then please contact Mr Heath r.heath@rhsb.gdst.net
