Last Friday Year 11 Food Preparation and Nutrition students had to cook three dishes with accompaniments over a three hour period and clean up. They had to demonstrate as many high skilled techniques as possible and cook to a theme. The themes this year are Food for Adolescents, food for pescatarians and vegetarians high in protein and Asian Food.
Some of the many skills the students showed were, pastry making, bread making boning chicken, filleting and skinning fish, using gelatin , decorating techniques, coating, knife skills, piping and many more.
The results were visually appealing but more importantly cooked and prepared correctly and delicious. Well done to them all.
