A big career with small people
Girls from Years 9-13 heard from Norland College staff this week about how their interest in childcare and Early Years education could take them around the world, and earn some serious money. Such is the prestige of the College’s famous graduates, that they continue to command impressive salaries, often with enviable opportunities for travel.
Tilly and Ben from Norland’s marketing team presented their new Degree Apprenticeship programme which provides the academic backbone to the famous Norland Nanny qualification, and which can enable access to Early Years teaching and associated professions.
Offering a glimpse into the day to day learning of the trainees at this world-renowned college, they also explained how Norland’s practical diploma, which runs alongside the Degree Apprenticeship, retains elements of the College’s prestigious history. From the iconic uniform, to classes in sewing, cookery and etiquette, traditional skills and values feature prominently on the syllabus, whilst trainees are also prepared for the necessities of modern family life through training in cyber security and advanced driving skills on a skid pan at Castle Combe race track.
