Year 8 Hockey XI fixture vs Spotters Academy 30 March 2019
After a busy morning of athletics for Year 7-8 at the university on Saturday 30 March, the Year 8 hockey team were excited to play in a hockey training fixture in readiness for playing XI aside hockey in the hockey season.
The game was against the Spotters Academy boys team with players in Year 6-7 and it was a closely fought contest. To add to the excitement shuffles on goal were used instead of Penalty corners and goalkeeper Poppy Robinson and Ruby Butterfield (Year7) were kept busy, each playing half a game for the team.
The score was 2-4 to the opposition at half time, but great determination from the RHS side meant that gradually the lead was eroded and finally the Year 8 RHS team won 5-4. T
his was a very enjoyable spectacle for all watching and a great experience for both teams.
Well done all who played. Player of the match Evie Butterfield.
The Year 8 team were.: Poppy Robinson GK, Ruby Butterfield GK, Jess Knechtli, Evie Butterfield, Lucy Smith, Lottie Silverton, India Vance, Lottie Ravenhill,
Francesca Sill, Eloisa Lunn, Imogen Oliphant, Adriana Crespo, Elly Boardman, Annabelle Noyce, with Ruby Butterfield from Year 7 making a guest appearance in goal for Halwere.
